About twenty minutes' walk along a tranquil and beautiful footpath will bring
you to the village of Aber-porth with its two sheltered beaches and pubs. Public footpaths lead from Aber-porth northward towards picturesque Tre-saith beach with its high waterfall and further to windswept Penbryn Beach, along what will become the Ceredigion Coastal Path in the near future. Southward the path leads to Cardigan and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path beyond. The coast here is designated a Coastal Hertitage Park due to the variety of wildlife. Dolphins are regularly spotted from the shore. A good vantage point, a pair of binoculars and patience are all you need to view these fascinating creatures. During the summer, a programme of guided walks and boat trips is held at different venues along the coast.
Six miles south lies the market town of Cardigan with its Tourist Information Centre at Theatr Mwldan. The theatre puts on a varied programme of international events, local art collections, and film society and new cinematic material. The Welsh Wildlife Trust is found at nearby Cilgeran - a 260 acre reserve with a wide range of habitats. Kayak trips are arranged on the river Teifi, where drifting down the current through the heavily wooded and crowdless gorge from Cilgeran downstream to Cardigan is an experience not to be
missed.
